The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), through the Kedaireka program in 2023, has awarded seven lecturers from the Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) for their outstanding product innovations. The highest award was given to Prof. drg. Ika Dewi Ana, M.Kes., Ph.D., for her innovation \"Ceraffold,\" a multifunctional biomedical membrane based on carbonate apatite (CHA) with a slow-degrading micro-polymer reinforcement network for dentocraniofacial surgery. This innovation has undergone pre-clinical data validation and clinical trials, showing great potential in enhancing the success of surgeries in the dental, cranial, and facial areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. drg. Anne Handrini Dewi, M.Kes., received the second award for her innovation \"Cinnamon Roll On,\" which uses cinnamaldehyde as an antibacterial protection in masks. This innovation is highly relevant during the pandemic to enhance the safety of mask usage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The third innovation came from drg. Asikin Nur, M.Kes., Ph.D., developed \"CorianD,\" an antibacterial lip balm with the active ingredient d-linalool from coriander seed extract. This product promises lip care that moisturizes and protects against bacterial infections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Drg. Heribertus Dedy Kusuma Yulianto, M.Biotech., Ph.D., received the fourth award for developing a measurement tool for testing hydrophobic properties. This tool is expected to aid in better dental material research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Drg. Trianna Wahyu Utami, MD.Sc., Ph.D., received the fifth award for her innovation \"Berwyn Dent,\" a whitening toothpaste made from strawberry extract. This innovation offers a natural alternative for whiter teeth care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the field of skincare, drg. Kwartarini Murdiastuti, SpPerio(K), Ph.D., received the sixth award for her research on the potential of Homologous Platelet-Rich Plasma as an anti-aging face mask \"Beauty Vamp.\" <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The seventh award was given to drg. Suryono, SH, MM, Ph.D., for his innovation \"Propasdent,\" a gel for preventing gum inflammation or gingivitis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With these achievements, FKG UGM further solidifies its position as one of the leading innovation centers in Indonesia in dentistry. Hopefully, these innovations can soon be mass-produced and utilized by the broader community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
