Universitas Gadjah Mada continues to strengthen its position as a world-class university. This was evidenced by a visit from a delegation of the University Medical Center Groningen (UMC Groningen) on Thursday (05\/10) to UGM's Faculty of Dentistry (FKG UGM). The delegation from UMC Groningen was represented by Prof. dr. A.J. (Han) Moshage, Director of International Relations.<\/p>\n
Prof. dr. A.J. (Han) Moshage's visit was warmly welcomed by the leadership of FKG UGM, including Dean Prof. drg. Suryono, S.H., M.M., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation drg. Trianna Wahyu Utami, M.Sc., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources drg. Margareta Rinastiti, M.Kes., Sp.KG(K), Ph.D., is also an alumna of the doctoral program in BioMedical Engineering at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Groningen. Also present were Prof. Dr. drg. Widowati Siswomihardjo, M.S., Chair of the Doctoral Program in Dentistry, drg. Heni Susilowati, M.Kes., Ph.D., Coordinator of the Dental Learning Center, Dr. drg. Ananto Ali Alhasyimi, MD.Sc., Sp.Ort., Head of Research and Publications Unit, and drg. Iffah Mardhiyah, M.Sc., Head of Collaboration and Enterprise Unit.<\/p>\n
The potential for a double doctorate collaboration between the Doctoral Program in Dentistry at FKG UGM and UMC Groningen was discussed during this visit. A double doctorate program involves doctoral degrees jointly awarded by two different institutions. In this context, UMC Groningen already offers a Double Degree PhD program that allows students from partner institutions like the University of Groningen to obtain a doctoral degree from UMC Groningen after conducting doctoral research and defending their dissertation at UMC Groningen. Apart from the Double Degree PhD program, UMC Groningen also welcomes doctoral students from partner universities.<\/p>\n
Universitas Gadjah Mada is one of three Asian universities in the University of Groningen Strategic Partnership Framework, alongside Osaka University and Nanyang Technological University. The collaboration between UGM and the University of Groningen was formalized with the signing of a strategic partnership agreement by the leaders of both universities in November 2022, thus strengthening the longstanding cooperative relationship built over two decades.<\/p>\n
Such inter-institutional educational collaboration activities reflect Goal 4 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which aims for Quality Education.
