The atmosphere in the Margono Suradji Auditorium of the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (11\/05\/2026) became a stage of pride. Long applause, emotional expressions, and rows of achievement sashes witnessed how Indonesia\u2019s oldest and most prestigious dental school was celebrating something important: the emergence of an outstanding generation that is not only academically excellent, but also capable of bringing the institution\u2019s name onto national and international stages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cAwarding<\/em> Outstanding Student 2025 and Student Organization Leadership Handover 2026\u201d was not merely an annual ceremony. The event reaffirmed that the culture of achievement at FKG UGM has continued to grow into a mature ecosystem connecting research, leadership, innovation, sports, arts, and global recognition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout 2025, FKG UGM students successfully earned 97 medals from competitions at university, national, and international levels. This achievement became one of the greatest accomplishments in the faculty\u2019s history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dean of FKG UGM, Prof. drg. Suryono, S.H., M.M., Ph.D., emphasized that student achievements have now become a strategic force in building institutional reputation at the global level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cStudent achievements are not merely personal pride, but also a source of international recognition for the faculty and university. Our reputation is actually very strong \u2014 the challenge is how we can develop strategies so that this global recognition becomes truly visible,\u201d said Prof. Suryono.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He even compared Universitas Gadjah Mada to \u201ca great model that simply needs to be photographed from its best angles.\u201d According to him, many of UGM\u2019s outstanding works are truly excellent, but their publication strategies and international recognition have not yet been fully optimized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His statement was not without basis. During his presentation, Prof. Suryono revealed that FKG UGM successfully entered several prestigious categories in the 2026 global rankings based on innovation and social impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFKG UGM entered the world\u2019s Top 100 in eight categories. In fact, one of our research downstreaming innovations ranked first in the world. This proves that even a relatively small faculty can compete with elite universities around the globe,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regeneration of Student Leadership<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to achievement awards, the event was also marked by the handover of student organization leadership. The leadership transition took place solemnly, symbolizing the continuation of struggle among the younger generation of FKG UGM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the ceremony, Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of FKG UGM, Prof. drg. Rosa Amalia, M.Kes., Ph.D., together with the Head of the Student Affairs Unit of FKG UGM, drg. Muhammad Fahmi Alfian, M.P.H., witnessed the signing of the official handover documents as a symbol of the beginning of new leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This moment demonstrated that FKG UGM does not only produce scientists and clinicians, but also future leaders equipped with organizational, communication, and social service capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outstanding Achievements Across Study Programs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s student achievements came from a remarkably broad spectrum, ranging from scientific competitions<\/em>, literature reviews<\/em>, oral presentation<\/em>, sports, and arts, at university, national, and international levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students from specialist, professional, master\u2019s, and undergraduate programs dominated numerous competitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the hundreds of award recipients, several students stood out prominently after winning multiple medals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fatimah Islamiah became one of the main highlights after collecting six national and international awards, including victories in literature review competitions, scientific competitions, and the National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Ananda Akila Nuril Iza earned four awards from various national and international scientific competitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another name, Evrin Korina, also achieved remarkable success through three prestigious awards in scientific dentistry competitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Achievements No Longer Individual in Nature<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

An interesting phenomenon behind FKG UGM\u2019s achievements this year is the shift in the pattern of student accomplishments. Previously, awards tended to be individual and sporadic. Now, however, the competitive culture has evolved into a collective movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students are no longer simply participating in competitions, but are beginning to understand the importance of academic recognition, international networking, and the impact of innovation on institutional reputation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Head of the Student Affairs Unit, drg. Fahmi, as he is familiarly known, viewed this cultural transformation as an important indicator of higher education development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Hub of Achievement on Campus<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Behind the glitter of medals and achievement sashes, FKG UGM aimed to deliver a major message: higher education institutions should not be satisfied with being excellent internally, but must also establish a global presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, internationalization strategies, research downstreaming, and publication strengthening have now become major priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FKG UGM realizes that the era of modern university competition is no longer merely about the number of graduates, but about how the works and contributions of students and lecturers resonate on the world stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And that afternoon, amid thunderous applause, the championship anthem<\/em> by Queen,<\/em> \u201cWe Are The Champions,\u201d<\/em> echoed throughout the auditorium as the 2025 FKG UGM Student Achievement Awards came to a close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
