The two-day workshop featured Dr. Ide Pustaka Setiawan, M.Sc., Sp.OG, as the main speaker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">The event opened with a committee report delivered by Dr. drg. Cendrawasih Andusyana Farmasyanti, M.Kes., Sp.Ort(K), who emphasized that the training aimed to align supervisors\u2019 understanding of clinical education principles, bedside teaching, feedback provision, and standardized assessment. \u201cThrough this training, we hope to enhance quality, consistency in assessment, and the standard of supervision across all educational settings,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"752\" height=\"501\" src=\"https:\/\/fkg.ugm.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/30\/2025\/11\/image-27.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16274\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fkg.ugm.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/30\/2025\/11\/image-27.jpeg 752w, https:\/\/fkg.ugm.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/30\/2025\/11\/image-27-300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/fkg.ugm.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/30\/2025\/11\/image-27-18x12.jpeg 18w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 752px) 100vw, 752px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">In his remarks, the Dean of FKG UGM, Prof. Dr. drg. Suryono, S.H., M.M., Ph.D., highlighted changes in student learning patterns in the era of artificial intelligence (AI). He stressed that clinical supervisors must understand technological developments and not be misled by student work that appears excellent but may actually be generated by AI. \u201cPlease do not be deceived. Students today can produce narratives and analyses using ChatGPT or Gemini. We must balance this with AI literacy, not reject it outright,\u201d he said, prompting laughter from participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With his characteristic humor, the Dean encouraged participants to enjoy the supervision process rather than view it as a burden. \u201cWork should not always feel like a burden. Life should be enjoyed. If I joke often, it\u2019s so everyone feels happy,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"752\" height=\"413\" src=\"https:\/\/fkg.ugm.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/30\/2025\/11\/image-28.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16275\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fkg.ugm.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/30\/2025\/11\/image-28.jpeg 752w, https:\/\/fkg.ugm.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/30\/2025\/11\/image-28-300x165.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/fkg.ugm.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/30\/2025\/11\/image-28-18x10.jpeg 18w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 752px) 100vw, 752px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pre-Test, Post-Test, and an Interactive Learning Atmosphere<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Following the opening remarks, participants completed a 10-minute pre-test. The highest scores were achieved by drg. Vima, drg. Yanuarti, drg. Pram, and drg. Vincensia. Special souvenirs were prepared for the highest post-test scores. The training atmosphere was relaxed, friendly, and filled with humor from the facilitators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Session 1 Material: Principles of Clinical Education in Practice<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Dr. Ide Pustaka Setiawan began his session with a brief introduction and personal anecdotes. He emphasized that clinical learning is not only about technical skills, but also about experience, coaching, mentoring, and reflection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1.\tCompetency-Based Clinical Education<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Each clinical case must be linked to student competencies according to their level. Not all cases must be performed by students, but every case offers learning opportunities.\n\u201cPatients are valuable, so every case must be maximized for learning,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2.\tStudent-Centered Learning and Assessment of Student Ability<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Supervisors must assess student readiness before allowing procedures.\n\u201cStudents must be \u2018diagnosed\u2019 first. Not all students are the same. There are levels from 1 to 4,\u201d he said, noting that excessive expectations can lead to misunderstandings and emotional stress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3.\tPatient-Centered Care<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Although clinics are learning environments, patients are entitled to the best possible care.\n\u201cDo not discuss issues in front of patients. Intervention is allowed if a student\u2019s action is dangerous, but discussion must take place afterward,\u201d he emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4.\tStages of Clinical Supervision<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Four readiness stages (R1\u2013R4) determine supervisory approaches:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>R1: Student has never seen the procedure \u2192 mandatory demonstration<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>R2: Student begins practicing \u2192 close supervision<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>R3: Student is more confident \u2192 supervision<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>R4: Student is competent \u2192 delegation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>5.\tThe Importance of Effective Feedback<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Feedback should be based on direct observation, specific, behavior-focused (not personal), and delivered promptly after the procedure.<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Learning Models: TBL, Simulation, and Quality Enhancement<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Dr. Ide shared experiences from FK-KMK UGM in developing simulation-based learning to meet competencies that are difficult to obtain from real clinical cases. He encouraged FKG UGM to expand networking and simulation opportunities so student competencies remain fulfilled despite increasing limitations in clinical patient availability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop was dynamic, interactive, and practice-oriented.
