BAPETEN presented the latest developments in licensing for nuclear energy utilization in healthcare, particularly the use of dental X-ray equipment, which is widely applied in modern dental practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Zainal Arifin outlined regulatory changes under Government Regulation No. 28 of 2025 on Risk-Based Business Licensing, as well as updates to several BAPETEN regulations. These changes mark a major transformation in the licensing system, including document simplification, accelerated services, and full integration through the Online Single Submission (OSS) system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Simplified Licensing for Dental Radiology Facilities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Under the new regulatory framework, BAPETEN has implemented more efficient licensing mechanisms for healthcare facilities, including dental radiology units. The process is now conducted in a single stage, with documentation reduced from 7\u20138 documents to three core documents:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Radiation Facility Technical Document<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Radiation Protection and Safety Program<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Management System Document<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">All licenses are now valid for five years, simplifying facility management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>New SLA: Dental X-Ray Licenses Issued in 5 Working Days<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">BAPETEN has also implemented a faster and more measurable Service Level Agreement (SLA). For intraoral dental X-ray equipment, licenses are now issued within 5 working days after requirements are deemed complete. Facilities are still required to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\" translation-block\">Appoint qualified Radiation Protection Officers (RPOs)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Implement radiation protection and safety programs consistently<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submit annual safety verification reports<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform equipment maintenance according to technical procedures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">BAPETEN also highlighted issues related to portable X-ray devices, including unauthorized use and the need for improved shielding and device stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Regulatory Support for the Development of Dental Radiology<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">These regulatory updates align with the growing demand for radiology facilities in dentistry, particularly the use of CBCT, panoramic, cephalometric, and intraoral X-ray devices. The new framework enables institutions like the Faculty of Dentistry to optimize imaging technology for education, research, and community services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>BAPETEN\u2019s Commitment to Service and Transparency<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zainal Arifin reaffirmed BAPETEN\u2019s commitment to transparency, service improvement, and risk-based supervision.
