Indra Bramanti Emphasizes Early Detection and Caries Prevention in Children"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pediatric Dentistry Specialist at FKG UGM, Dr. drg. Indra Bramanti, M.Sc., Sp.KGA (K-PKOA), emphasized the importance of early detection and prevention of oral and dental diseases in children from an early age. This message was delivered during a Child Dental Health Education session for 103 Posyandu health cadres from the service areas of Gondokusuman II and Jetis Community Health Centers, coinciding with the launch of the KaderMu UGM application on Monday (10\/11).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She explained that maintaining children\u2019s oral health is not limited to oral hygiene but also includes recognizing early signs of dental problems. \u201cHealthy teeth have a natural yellowish-white color, a hard surface, no cavities, and do not cause pain or bad breath. Healthy gums are pale pink, firm, and do not bleed easily,\u201d explained drg. Anti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">She stated that the most common oral diseases in children are dental caries, gingivitis, and stomatitis. According to him, the earliest sign of dental caries is the appearance of white spots, indicating the initial stage of enamel demineralization. If neglected, the enamel continues to weaken until cavities form. Dental enamel is the hard outermost layer that protects the tooth crown and consists of approximately 96% minerals, making it the hardest tissue in the human body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a preventive measure, Anti emphasized the importance of topical fluoride use to strengthen enamel and increase resistance to acid attacks from bacteria. If ulcers last more than two weeks, individuals should seek professional dental care. Health cadres are expected to be sensitive and proactive in responding to community complaints and encouraging timely medical consultation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anti believes that significant improvements in children\u2019s oral health can begin with small actions taken by health cadres.
