To address these issues, natural materials such as chitosan have gained increasing attention due to their anti-inflammatory properties and ability to support tissue healing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Research conducted by FKG UGM student Annisa Nurrahma Alwiyansyah, supervised by Dr. drg. Andi Triawan, Sp. Ort(K) and drg. Darmawan S., SU., Sp. Ort(K), titled \u201cThe Effect of Nano Chitosan Solution on Gingival Crevicular Fluid Volume in Gingivitis During Orthodontic Treatment\u201d, found that the use of nano chitosan solution had a positive effect in reducing gingival crevicular fluid volume in Rattus norvegicus rats experiencing gingivitis during orthodontic treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chitosan is well-known for its strong anti-inflammatory properties, its ability to relieve gum inflammation, and its capacity to accelerate wound and tissue healing. These qualities make it a promising natural agent for managing gingivitis and reducing gum inflammation symptoms. It works by slowing bacterial activity that causes plaque while stimulating gingival tissue regeneration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the use of nano chitosan shows advantages as its smaller particle size enhances penetration and bioactivity within inflamed tissues. This research confirms that nano chitosan solution is a safe and effective natural antiseptic option for gum and gingivitis care, although challenges in formulation and stability must continue to be addressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With such potential, chitosan not only functions as a natural anti-inflammatory agent but also represents part of an innovative, environmentally friendly, and sustainable approach to oral health care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><strong>References<\/strong><br><strong>Annisa Nurrahma Alwiyansyah, Dr. drg.
