This motivated the Timor Leste <em>Agencia de Desenvolvimento Nacional<\/em> to conduct a study visit to the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada, on Friday (9\/5) to learn directly about the <em>smart &amp; green building<\/em> concept applied in the <em>Dental Learning Center (DLC) building.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the visit, 12 participants were guided to tour several areas of the DLC building, which has been operational for research and lectures since 2022. The green building concept <em>green buildings<\/em> aims to create buildings that are energy-efficient, environmentally friendly, and comfortable for users\u2014a focus of many educational institutions, including FKG UGM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Buana Yaksa Surya Atmaja, S.T., M.Eng., Coordinator of Facilities and Infrastructure at FKG UGM, showed the participants various spaces, including a laboratory designed with energy efficiency in mind. This room features a large window measuring approximately 2.5 x 2 meters that optimizes natural lighting, reducing the need for electrical energy.Buana Yaksa Surya Atmaja, S.T., M.Eng., Coordinator of Facilities and Infrastructure at FKG UGM, showed the participants various spaces, including a laboratory designed with energy efficiency in mind. This room features a large window measuring approximately 2.5 x 2 meters that optimizes natural lighting, reducing the need for electrical energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn addition to natural lighting, we also installed several sensors such as CO2 sensors, automatic AC panels, and two types of light sensors: motion sensors and light sensors,\u201d explained Buana. He added that motion sensors, like <em>Passive Infrared Sensors<\/em> (PIR), activate the lights when detecting heat pattern changes caused by human movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fidelis, one of the participants, expressed great admiration for the landscaping and facilities at the DLC FKG UGM. \u201cSeveral campus development projects are currently underway in Timor Leste.
