Two important factors that contribute to the final appearance of restorative materials are the color and translucency of resin composites. A color that matches natural teeth and an appropriate level of translucency can result in restorations that appear natural and blend seamlessly with surrounding teeth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A study by FKG UGM student Gusti Fathoni Firmansyah, under the supervision of \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fkg.ugm.ac.id\/id\/organisasi-fakultas\/dr-drg-tunjung-nugraheni\/\">Dr. drg. Tunjung Nugraheni, M.Kes., Sp.KG.(K)<\/a> and drg. Sri Daradjati, SU, Sp.KG(K), titled \u201cDifferences in Color Changes of Micro-Fine Hybrid and Nanohybrid Resin Composites After Soaking in Black Coffee\u201d, explained that composite materials can change color due to contact with staining substances in food and beverages. The study showed that both types of composites experienced color changes after being soaked in black coffee, demonstrating that color and translucency are affected by exposure to colored substances such as coffee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In clinical practice, variations in color and translucency are crucial for achieving aesthetic and natural-looking restorations. Resin composites with high translucency effectively mimic the natural luster and depth of light in real teeth, while the composite color must be matched to the patient\u2019s teeth for a seamless appearance. Choosing the right composite material is important to avoid noticeable color differences. Accurate color matching ensures long-term aesthetic results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Overall, the relationship between color, translucency, and resin composite aesthetics must be carefully considered during restorations. This research also highlights the need to consider the effects of food and drinks, such as black coffee, which can cause color changes over time, emphasizing the importance of using materials resistant to discoloration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Using composites with appropriate color and translucency, along with patient education about staining factors, greatly contributes to successful, long-lasting, and aesthetically pleasing dental restorations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><strong>References<\/strong><br><strong>Gusti Fathoni Firmansyah, Dr. drg.
