Yogyakarta, 11 December 2024<\/strong> \u2013 The Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) conducted a Comprehensive Examination for its orthodontic residents. The examination was held online and involved several examiners, including Prof. Dr. Endah Mardiati, drg., M.S., Sp.Ort., Subsp.DDTK (K), a distinguished figure in the field of orthodontics in Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The comprehensive examination is a crucial milestone in the orthodontic residency program, assessing residents on theoretical knowledge, clinical skills, and case analysis relevant to orthodontic practice. The residents undergoing the exam included drg. Raymund Octavius, drg. Luqman Alfarizi Pratama, and drg. Endiyanto. Each resident presented clinical cases, explained their diagnoses, treatment plans, and the outcomes achieved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The examiners posed in-depth questions on orthodontic theories, treatment techniques, and challenges faced in clinical practice. The participation of Prof. Endah Mardiati as an external examiner added academic rigor to the assessment, given her expertise as one of Indonesia\u2019s leading orthodontists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the organizing committee, the comprehensive examination serves to enhance the quality of orthodontic education at FKG UGM and prepare residents to become competent orthodontic specialists.\nAdditionally, this initiative aligns with Universitas Gadjah Mada\u2019s commitment to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 3 \u2013 Good Health and Well-being: Advancing oral health education and care; SDG 4 \u2013 Quality Education: Ensuring high academic and professional standards; SDG 9 \u2013 Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure: Fostering innovation in orthodontic training; and SDG 17 \u2013 Partnerships for the Goals: Strengthening academic and professional collaborations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
