However, this approach requires more careful attention and management in patients with periodontal disease. <a href=\"https:\/\/jurnal.ugm.ac.id\/mkgk\/article\/view\/32005\">Periodontal disease, which includes gum infections and damage to the supporting tissues of the teeth, can affect the success of orthodontic treatment and overall oral health.<\/a>Therefore, understanding the interaction between these two conditions is essential for effective and safe treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Comprehensive Evaluation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A comprehensive evaluation of the patient's periodontal health is crucial before starting orthodontic treatment. Dentists need to diagnose the severity of periodontal disease and plan appropriate interventions. Typically, patients showing symptoms of periodontal disease, such as gum bleeding or tooth loss, must undergo periodontal treatment first. This treatment may involve professional dental cleaning, scaling, and root planing to reduce inflammation and improve gum health before proceeding with orthodontic care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Starting Orthodontic Treatment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the periodontal condition is stable, orthodontic treatment can begin.
