{"id":10960,"date":"2024-09-11T07:21:18","date_gmt":"2024-09-11T00:21:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fkg.ugm.ac.id\/?p=10960"},"modified":"2024-11-03T20:43:14","modified_gmt":"2024-11-03T13:43:14","slug":"cpp-acp-sebagai-bahan-remineralisasi-gigi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fkg.ugm.ac.id\/en\/cpp-acp-sebagai-bahan-remineralisasi-gigi\/","title":{"rendered":"CPP-ACP as a Dental Remineralization Material"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Wednesday, 11 September 2024<\/strong> \u2013 A group of undergraduate dental students participated in the CPP-ACP Skills Lab at the Dental Unit Lab on the 3rd floor of the DLC. The activity was supervised by Drg. Lisdrianto Hanindriyo, MPH, Ph.D., a lecturer from the Department of Preventive Dentistry and Community Dental Health. Before beginning the skills lab, each student was required to adhere to laboratory regulations, including wearing lab coats, masks, and headcaps, as well as arriving on time. These protocols are essential to ensure that students are properly prepared for the skills lab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tools and materials needed for this practicum included a <em>diagnostic set<\/em> and tray, <em>a low-speed contra-angle, a rotary brush, pumice paste, cotton pellets, cotton rolls,<\/em> and CPP-ACP paste. CPP-ACP (<em>Casein Phosphopeptide-Amorphous Calcium Phosphate<\/em>) paste is a material with remineralizing properties. It contains casein in the form of casein phosphoprotein (CPP) and high levels of calcium and phosphate. Its unique composition allows the paste to inhibit demineralization, making it an essential material for students to study and use in their practice. CPP-ACP paste helps localize calcium and phosphate ions on the tooth surface, aiding in maintaining a neutral state in the enamel layer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the practicum, several important aspects were emphasized, including instrument preparation, ergonomic practice, task preparation, white spot identification, CPP-ACP application techniques, and finishing procedures. These aspects are crucial to ensure that students not only understand the theoretical aspects of dental care but also gain hands-on experience that will be beneficial for their future careers.<br><br>This Skills Lab activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 4 (Quality Education).
