The Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM), Prof. drg. Suryono, S.H, M.M, Ph.D, officially sent off the Orthodontic residents of the 2022 and 2023 cohorts for a clinical observation program focused on Cleft Lip and Palate<\/em> at the Mother and Child Hospital (RSAB) Harapan Kita, Jakarta. The send-off ceremony was held online via Zoom on Monday, 12 August 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This clinical observation aims to provide residents with the opportunity to gain direct experience in managing Cleft Lip and Palate cases at RSAB Harapan Kita, a national referral center for such cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The virtual meeting was attended by the Head of the Orthodontics Department of FKG UGM, Dr. drg. Cendrawasih Andusyana Farmasyanti, M.Kes.Sp.Ort., Subsp. DDTK (K), drg. Muhammad Syafrudin Hak, Sp.BM, MPH, Ph.D, lecturers from the orthodontics department, and all orthodontic residents from the 2022 and 2023 cohorts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his speech, Prof. Suryono expressed his hope that the residents would make the most of this valuable opportunity to learn and enhance their competence in handling Cleft Lip and Palate cases. He also emphasized the importance of collaboration between FKG UGM and RSAB Harapan Kita in improving the quality of healthcare services for the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This clinical observation is part of FKG UGM's commitment to producing highly qualified orthodontic specialists who are prepared to face challenges in the field of dental and oral health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
