To promote the implementation of SCL and refresh lecturers, the Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) organized a <em>Student-Centered Learning Workshop<\/em> on 5-6 August 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event was opened by the Dean of FKG UGM, Prof. drg. Suryono. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of active student participation in learning activities. \u201cI hope this event can formulate a learning program plan that enhances student participation,\u201d said Suryono.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SCL is a learning model that places students at the center of the educational process. The role of the instructor shifts from being the <em>primary<\/em> teacher to a facilitator who helps students achieve their own learning goals.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>dr. Yoyo Suhoyo, M.Med.Ed. Ph.D., the resource person for this event, emphasized that the instructor\u2019s role is to respond to and elaborate on students' questions for discussion. \u201cThis approach will create a more vibrant classroom atmosphere,\u201d Yoyo stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The expected output of this activity is that faculty will be able to create Semester Learning Program Plans (RPKPS) that are oriented toward SCL. Faculty will also be able to design more dynamic learning programs that respond to student needs.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. drg.
