Lecturers from the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKG UGM) participated in the International Prosthodontics Congress titled \u201cThe 133rd Annual Meeting of The Japan Prosthodontics Society & The 14th Biennial Congress of The Asian Academy of Prosthodontics (AAP)\u201d. <\/em>The congress took place from 5-7 July 2024, in Chiba, Japan.. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The delegation from the Prosthodontics Department at FKG UGM included drg. Intan Ruspita, M.Kes., Ph.D., Sp.Pros (K), drg. Mohammad Fadyl Yunizar, M.PH., Ph.D., and drg. Nadya Kurnia Putri. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the event, the FKG UGM delegation presented two research posters. The first poster, titled \u201cAnthropometric Study of Ear and Nose in Indonesian Population\u201d <\/em>was presented by drg. Fadyl. The second poster, titled \u201cSecretome and Its Potential Promoting Initial Bone Healing and Accelerate The Osseointegration of Dental Implants\u201d <\/em>was presented by drg. Intan. Both presentations highlighted advancements in prosthodontics, particularly concerning the use of cutting-edge technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The primary goal was to enhance the knowledge of prosthodontics faculty regarding developments in science and technology within the field. This supports the success of prosthodontic treatments and improves overall dental health services, especially in areas such as CAD\/CAM technology, partial & full dentures, adhesive bridges, TMJ appliances, digital dentistry in prosthodontics, overdenture magnets,<\/em> and advance implant prosthesis. <\/em>These advancements are approached through a multidisciplinary practice in theory and clinical settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the delegation participated in a visit to the Magnet Design Research Center<\/em> in Nagoya for the Magnet International Symposium<\/em> from 7-9 July 2024. The symposium featured experts discussing breakthroughs in the use of magnets for prosthodontic patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit concluded with a benchmarking <\/em>with Graduate School of Medical Dental Sciences, Tokyo Medical Dental University <\/em>(TMDU) on 9 July 2024. This benchmarking <\/em>aimed to establish collaborations between institutions, particularly in the development of digital dentistry<\/em> related to prosthodontics. The activity is expected to pave the way for further cooperation between FKG UGM and leading universities in Japan and potentially lead to obtaining an adjunct professor<\/em> position in the Prosthodontics Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall, these activities are expected to contribute to both theoretical and practical advancements in prosthodontics, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals <\/em>particularly in areas such as SDG 3 Good Health and Well-Being<\/em>, 4 (Quality Education)<\/em>, 9 Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure<\/em>, and 17 Partnership for the Goals<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
